Good news for economically hit Wilkes County, which is in the Winston-Salem commuting zone. Lowes Home Improvement plans to hire 600 support jobs back in Wilkes because the infrastructure is there which will put employment back up to or over the number when the HQ was in Wilkesboro. 600 jobs in Wilkes is equivalent to 2.8M in national numbers.
