Newark looks like most 1920s industrial cities...vibrant, dense, dirty, dangerous for pedestrians like we couldn't even imagine today, and hordes of hidden poor people begging in the streets while others work for $.20/day. I see all kinds of lung problems floating around in the haze above the city, so while it's romantic to think of living back then and seeing the big cities develop inward, I wouldn't want the negatives that inevitably came along with them.
