The equipment shown at 11:52 reminds me of the server room in the basement of the building, where I work. It's a glass enclosed room too. It's interesting how some of the architecture and even the clothing from that time is back. I have a few cardigans and actually thought that shirt collar style was new, when seeing it recently in stores. I guess nothing is new. Thankfully the rotary phone is not returning. These days, everything is touch-screen. Did anyone predict the smart phone at that time? My grandfather said he had a phone in his car for his job in the 1960s (in NYC) and it would drain the car battery. It's an amazing time to look back on. Everything was about the future and design seemed themed on space travel. I can see why designs from this time would return. Thank you for sharing this. World's Fairs are awesome!
I want to share this with Lauren, who is originally from Seattle and graduated from UW. We saw the area where the 1962 fair was held last summer and even took the short ride on the monorail. No, it doesn't go far and is more for tourists than actual transit. She loves everything from her hometown. She is currently sleeping though.
