The Symphony has selected its next conductor, Timothy Redmond. He was the fifth of five candidates vying for the position and apparently knocked it out of the ballpark during his audition. He will take the podium for the first time for the season opening concert of the Classics Series, The Rite of Spring, which will happen on October 27 and 29. The first chance to meet him will occur at an event called Ovation on the night of October 4.

He is the Music Director of the Cambridge Philharmonic and is a regular guest director of the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic.

More information about him can be found on the symphony's website: http://www.WSsymphony.org
