Anyone questioning the economic and social impact of the arts in our community, especially in this recession, should kindly be directed to this page.


When I first walked up Trade Street it was mostly boarded-up storefronts with drunks sleeping in doorways. Too many people in this city still believe it to be that way.


There are still drunks of course, but they are attending gallery hops and festivals and drinking Merlot instead of NyQuil.
